Thoughts Unspoken

I wrote this song last week after reading Luke 10:30-37, and based it on: "Now by chance a certain pries came down that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place came and looked, and passed by on the other side."

I see her face
Like some forgotten memory
It is blurred
And masked with pain

I can't remember
The last time that she smiled
She lies there
Barely breathing

Can you see her?
Or do you look away?
Why don't you help her?
She is yearning
For a love unfailing
For a hope that isn't hopeless
She's looking for Jesus

You walked past her
And didn't even notice
Her blank stare
She is wounded

Why can't you see her?
You just look away.
Why don't you help her
She is yearning for a love unfailing
for a hope that isn't hopeless
She's looking for Jesus

It made me think...how often don't we, Christians, see someone who is hurting, who is in need, and we just keep walking. Sometimes we even laugh behind their back. Isn't it sad? Jesus gave us the command to "go and do likewise." It's hard isn't it, to have to take the time to help someone else? But we are told to. Let's do it!
